
A group under the aegis of Concerned Patriots in Plateau state has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for arraigning ex-Minister for Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, former Acting Chairman, Plateau state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Raymond Dabo and one Mr. Leo Jatau, for alleged laundering N450 million.
The group in a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon. Dan Bulus, also called on the EFCC to beam its searchlight on the state further to fish out those who have played roles in squandering or misappropriating the funds of the state in the past.
It recalled that last month, a Federal High Court sitting in Jos granted bail to Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, Dabo and Leo Jatau on personal recognition.
EFCC had slammed a two count charge - conspiracy and money laundering on the three accused persons for alleged laundering of N450 million in 2015.
The Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Musa H. Kurya, who said that the accused were granted bail based on the ground that the prosecution's counsel (EFCCl did not opposed the bail applications.
Hearing on the matter has been fixed for 13th and 14th February, 2018.
